It’s Not About What We Do
It’s about why we do it
The Center for Connection, Healing & Change was conceived as a sanctuary to facilitate joyful connection to ourselves and our loved ones. Our work focuses on the creation of secure, close, and satisfying relationships – within us and between us.
We choose to specialize in relationships because we know the importance of healthy and happy relationships for our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. When our relationships are going well, we have the confidence and energy we need to tackle the challenges that life sends our way.
All therapy services offer an opportunity to explore the relationship we have with both ourselves and with others; how well we can live with emotional ease, know who we are, ask for what we need, and access our resilience in moments of hurt or stress.
We take an interdisciplinary approach, interweaving psychotherapy and neuroscience with the timeless wisdom of yoga, bodywork, mindfulness, and meditation. Our mission is to provide you with emotional calm, abundant self-worth, and harmonious relationships.
Therapy Services
Relationships make the world go round
The key to lasting happiness
Our philosophy at The Center for Connection, Healing & Change asserts that our quality of life is inextricably tied to the quality of our relationships.
Our therapists work with couples, children, teens, families, and adults – all from a systemic and holistic perspective. We are particularly committed to providing services grounded in trauma-informed care, somatic and body-based approaches, and attachment-focused ways of working.
Each CCHC therapist offers a different area of clinical focus. Our Intake Coordinators take time to understand your needs and match you with a therapist who is skilled and experienced in your particular area of need.
These wide-ranging specialties allow us to offer a highly creative and collaborative model of care. Clients can benefit from this wealth of clinical expertise through short-term consultation with an additional therapist or active coordination of care between our staff.
Body-focused Work
Let us support you to release your natural healing, resilience, and energy.
Start Enjoying Your Life, Not Enduring It
Honor your wholeness as you connect, heal, and change
Explore our integrative and compassionate approach to the creation of lasting change. We value connection and healing at all levels: mental, emotional, physical, relational, sexual, and spiritual. As all aspects of our humanity are intrinsically linked, we intentionally treat them as a whole. A symptom in any one of these areas is a signal that something is out of balance or needs tending to.
We offer a creative approach that truly welcomes the body into the healing process. Our skilled therapists provide a range of somatically oriented pathways to healing that include psychotherapy, yoga, bodywork, meditation, mindfulness, and spiritual integration.
Our holistic and systemic services serve to address the pain, dis-ease, trauma, or chronic stress that all of us are vulnerable to. None of us make it through life without acquiring a little damage along the way. Processing and resolving old wounds has great power to heal, balance, and release our potential.
We cherish the uniqueness of our clients and know that a healing approach that works for one person may not work for another.
Our range of therapeutic approaches can be used on their own or in combination to develop a relevant, individualized, and intentional program of care. We are invested in helping you create a plan for connection, healing, and change that is tailored to meet your unique needs.
Practice Philosophy
Self of the Therapist Work
Human, Authentic, Congruent, Parallel
The Center for Connection, Healing & Change was created as a place where systemically-trained professionals can come together to create, support, and inspire one another in their journey toward becoming the therapist they strive to be. We value community, nurturance, and the mirror our colleagues can offer us as we hone our craft.
We believe that making space for the story of your humanity is not just a professional approach, it is a personal journey too. As such, we choose to embed Self-of-the-Therapist work into the very fabric of our practice – training, supervision, consultation, communication, leadership, and our working culture are all organized around this premise.
Everything we do at The Center for Connection, Healing and Change reflects our belief that therapy is fundamentally a human-to-human encounter. It is the relationship and our open emotional system that serve as the vehicle for meaningful, change-worthy, and even sacred work. As attachment-based therapists, we serve as a secure base, solid ground, and guide through the therapeutic process.
In an effort to ensure our own struggles, wounds, and patterns do not determine the focus, trajectory, or depth of the work, we must also engage in our own process of exploration, processing, and organizing our lived experiences. We must be mindful of mitigating the impact our own ‘stuff’ could have on the client’s experience.
As therapists, we must be willing to go back for the parts of us that have been hurt, explore the ways we learned to protect and survive, and move through unresolved pain. We must be willing to believe in our capacity to come through hard things. We must be willing to access the wholeness and security that lives on the inside of each of us.
In order to offer effective therapy services, we must be active consumers of the products we sell. We must know what it is like to grapple with our own human struggles, engage in healing, and come out the other side with compassion, connection, creativity, curiosity, courage, clarity, and calm.
In this way, we offer therapy services that are grounded in both evidence-based models and Self-of-the-Therapist work. We hope to be human, congruent, authentic, and parallel in process in the work we do. We won’t ask a client to access a hurt, reach for someone they love, or risk being fully seen in a way we are not willing to do within ourselves or in our own important relationships.
We strive to offer a soulful therapy space where BOTH professional and personal development are the cornerstones of our treatment philosophy. We value the humanity of our therapists and encourage intuition, personhood, and creativity as tools to be employed alongside evidence-based therapeutic models. We look forward to being of service to you and the people you love the most, full in the knowledge that the journey may be hard but very much worth it.
